Dispatch

Here it is, the actual dispatch floor.

There are 11 dispatch stations, each capable of operating with any or all of our user agencies. The positioning of 4 stations in two pods and three stations in a separate row allows us to configure our staffing to the needs of our user agencies.

By placing dispatchers whose resources are related in the same pod allows for quick information sharing and the easy division of workloads. All while cutting down on "cross-talk" which could interfere with other operators.

Each station consists of (from left to right), a telephone control computer, mapping and auxilliary display, a main dispatch call and resource monitor, and the radio control computer. Instant playback recorders are also included to ensure accurate recording of radio communications. The stations are capable of adjusting to each operators preference in height, lighting, air circulation and heat.
